A letter I received from a man who obviously has a very short memory.
If my memory serves me correctly, I received this personalised letter the Wednesday after Irving mailed it out. Obviously his memory didn't serve him correctly because I would be just about the last person he would have mailed considering our encounter in the early 90s. The last time Irving saw me in the flesh he looked distinctly uneasy. This was at the end of January and the beginning of February 2000 when he was fighting his libel action against Deborah Lipstadt at the High Court.
On the first occasion he looked distinctly nervous when I walked into the courtroom, especially as I had a few copies of my book The Churchill Papers in my hand (which were no longer in my hand by the time I left the building!); the second occasion a few days later we passed in one of the corridors, and again he looked distinctly nervous.
